The villa

Built with restraint

A modern villa shaped by old Istrian craft

Villa Adistria was built with restraint. The architecture borrows from old Istrian farmhouses - pale stone, deep eaves, walls that hold the cool - and pairs them with the kind of comforts a modern stay deserves.

Three bedrooms, each its own quiet. A kitchen built around a long stone island, where mornings begin slowly and evenings end the same way. Outside, a covered courtyard with a wooden table for eight, string lights, herbs along the wall - and a pool that catches the last light through the olive trees.

The village of Sveti Petar u Šumi has been here for nearly a thousand years. Its Pauline monastery still stands at the center, and the surrounding hills are stitched with olive groves and small vineyards. The pace here is unhurried. Markets are weekly, roads are empty, and the nearest coast is half an hour away.

Most guests, after a day or two, find they don't want to leave. The villa was designed with exactly that in mind.
